OSF wins Technology & Innovation award!

In a perfect cap-off to the most exciting month in Okanagan Specialty Fruits’ history, we are proud to share that on Saturday, OSF was named the co-winner of a Business & Community Excellence award in the “Technology and Innovation” category by the Summerland Chamber of Commerce!

OSF Research Manager Dr. John Armstrong accepted the award alongside a representative from co-winner Mazza Innovation at Summerland’s 77th Annual Business & Community Awards Gala. The honor was yet another exciting February announcement for us, following big news about the U.S. approval of nonbrowning Arctic® apples on Feb. 13th and news of Intrexon’s planned acquisition of OSF on Feb. 27th.

We wish to extend our thanks and warm regards to all Chamber members and Summerland residents who supported us with their votes, and to all of our supporters across the world who have helped us achieve our recent successes!

Hi Brian – thanks for your questions!

We do not splice an apple tree with a lemon tree, we simply silence the enzyme that drives the browning reaction through the use of apple genes. We hope you’ll check out more here if you’re interested.

We do not sell tree cuttings, but are currently selling trees to commercial growers who are interested in parterning with us to bring Arctic® apples to market. Please feel free to contact us if you have any other questions we can help answer!
