You’ve got questions? We’ve got answers!

What does OSF stand for?
What kind of company is OSF?
While OSF is best defined as an agricultural biotechnology company, we are fairly unique in the industry. This is in part due to the comparatively small size of our team (8 employees total as of 2015) and because of our specialization in tree fruits.
Who owns OSF?
How can I explore potential partnership opportunities with OSF?
If you are looking to become work with us, please contact us directly or visit our Apple Supply Chain section for more information.
Why did OSF start with nonbrowning apples as their first product?
Apples are among the world’s most popular fruits, yet consumption in North American has bene flat-to-declining for decades. Through one relatively small genetic change, Arctic® apples solve one of the main barriers to consumption – enzymatic browning. Nonbrowning apples can help create a consumption trigger by making apples more convenient and appealing, while also helping to reduce food waste.
Additionally, we know that some consumers are hesitant to embrace genetically engineered crops, but research has consistently shown that attitudes are more positive when these crops offer direct, tangible benefits to consumers. Arctic apples not only deliver clear value to consumers, but the rest of the supply chain as well.
What projects besides nonbrowning apples are OSF working on?
The development of new biotech crops is an arduous undertaking, as is the regulatory approval process. So, while we have a number of exciting projects in our pipeline, we will share further details as we move these projects closer to market. We look forward to providing updates in Our Future Products section when the time comes!
